James O'Neill of Cratloe

James O'Neill was born about 1780 in Co. Clare, Ireland. James married Bridget McMahon. Bridget was born about 1780 in Ballintlea, Kilfintinan pr, Clare, Ireland. She died before 1850. They had the following children:

Constantine O'Neill of Cratloe, c.1779

 

John O'Neill married Mary WALL in Cratloe, Co. Clare, in the late 1700's. Sons Constantine, Michael, John, and James moved to Canada, (Perth ONT., and Buckingham, Quebec). The other son Robert, remained in Cratloe. Constantine married Mary LYNCH of Limerick. They emigrated to Canada via the USA about 1818 and settled in Buckingham, Quebec after a few years in Perth, Ont.. Children:

 

    • Robert O'NEILL b. Cratloe c. 1812 m. Catherine FORBES b. 1823. settled Dakota Co., Mn. USA
    • James O'NEILL, b. Cratloe date unknown. Went to California c 1849.
    • Mary O'NEILL. b. Cratloe c. 1815. m. Alonzo DANA, b. c. 1809 in USA. Lived in Brockville, ON. Can.
    • Margaret O'NEILL. b. USA 1818. m. Thomas SPOONER, b. IRL lived in Buckingham, Que.
    • John Michael O'NEILL. b. Perth, ON. c. 1820 m. Ann O'NEILL. b. in Cratloe c. 1826 lived in Buckingham
    • Michael Patrick O'NEILL. b. Buckingham c. 1832 m. Jessie McMILLAN. B. ont. can. 28-9-1834 lived in Ottawa On. Can.

I am trying to start tracing my husbands family in Ireland. His grandfather Martin Joseph immigrated to Australia as a single man in the 1920s. His parents were Patrick Joseph & Margaret Keogh.
