Note

The earliest proven ancestor is Edgar Woodcock, number 45, in the 6th generation - born in 1840 in East Maidstone, Kent, England. There is confusion as to his father; either a Josiah Woodcock born on 16 Feb 1812 in Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, or another Joseph Woodcock born in 1816 in Hertfordshire. There is evidence to suggest either, and possible proof not yet available. At this stage, I've been convinvced that the Hampshire option is the valid connection.
